Another cowl

I mailed this cowl to my daughter yesterday. Her beautiful blue eyes will bring out the blue in the yarn.

Some Pieces I've made Over Many Years.

A sweater I made pour moi. I must have knit this sweater a thousand times; I had such a hard time w the pattern.

A little vest I knit, 28 years ago, when I was expecting our first baby.
Wanted to make something unisex, cuz I didn't know until her birthday that we'd have a beautiful daughter.

Scarf for my husband.

Sweater for our son who loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - this is in Raphael's colors.

Double sided hoodie for our youngest.
This was the best thing I knit as far as getting on a baby, so stretchy and it lasted through a few years for that reason, too.

I crocheted this popcorn pattern sweater, probably 30 years ago. :0

A scarf I knit for my daughter a year or so ago.
This is a cowl I knit for my son's girlfriend XMAS 2012

A sweater I made for my husband, that I shrunk first time I washed it. So, now it's my sweater. I hope to knit an Irish Fisherman's sweater for him, someday.

My Second Baby Quilt

I picked this material for my friend's first grandbaby boy! I liked the cute animals especially with the elephants! The back material, I thought, looked like a starry night. After I washed it and was ironing it, I noticed a flaw.  I decided to applique an elephant over it.  Sometimes solutions to problems can work out to be better than the original plan; I think the elephant added a needed bit of color to the backside.
The baby lives in Georgia, so I used flannel, instead of batting, for the filling to make its weight lighter.

My First Baby Quilt

This is a baby quilt I made for my daughter's friend.  I originally got the pattern for it off the internet.  I had so much trouble understanding the directions, I only had it basted by the time of the baby shower. I wrapped it up "as is" and explained I needed it back to finish.  I knew I needed help getting in done and there was no question that I had to finish it .  Sooooo, I went to a drop-in sewing class which is held every Tues a.m.  The teacher looked at my directions and put them in the trash.  I basically had to start all over, but it was worth it.  I learned a lot - my biggest surprise was that the binding was to be hand-sewn!  I actually enjoyed it.  I'm going to keep going to the class and make more baby quilts, till I get it down. I'm really pleased with it.

Some more blankets

I made two more quilt-style fleece blankets.  One for me - which has a cotton top material that I tested out machine quilting on, and one for my husband.  His reminds me of a Mexican blanket- he loves colorful things. Everyone loves these because they are very big and so soft.  I think I would like to do more machine quilting.

Watercolors I've done

Over the years, mostly flowers have inspired me to paint.  Some other things, but mostly flowers.
